Well the first weekend in October Mom and Dad were coming up to the land in Birchwood with Dave and Jane...they hoped to do some fishing, some work on the shed and just have a little time away from the farm. Well of course the weather was crappy....it always seems to be that way when the four of them try to do anything in the fall!
Bad weather or not, my kids love to go to the camper, in fact they had been asking all summer!
So we packed up warm clothes and lots of blankets and headed over on Saturday morning.
Well it was very wet, however the the buildings are dry and cozy!We spent the night in the camper, Mom and Dad in the shed...Dave & Jane volunteered to stay in Brian's in laws cabin which is also in Birchwood. (Did I mention it has indoor plumbing and a television!) It is nicer than my house! Cousin Steve, Cousin Brian & Jen and their kids, and Jen's parents were there...not to mention 4 dogs! The boys worked Saturday in the shed, while the girls ran into Bargain Bills in Rice Lake. I had not been there in years!! It was the same as I remember. For supper we headed over to Jen's parents cabin. The kids loved played, the adults talked, Dad enjoyed a comfy sofa, and we had great food! Thanks so much! We then headed home for our night in the camper.

Finally it is not raining...while for a moment. We all headed out.
The colors are way better there than they were in SCF.
This really was one of the biggest leaves I had ever seen!
The water is is down so much, I know I really should not complain about the rain...but it is just not fun when it is cold!
The progress inside. Dad is making one end of the shed a living area. He now has electricity so we no longer have to worry about draining the battery! We just have to drain the bathroom! It will be nice when they can just come up and enjoy the area......someday!
Time to pull the boat up! I think they may be discussing future plans.

After to packing up and helping Nana and Papa get everything shut down and packed away for the winter...which is quite a job...... Bret, Mark and I headed back to SCF. The girls went to the farm for the week. Mark and I wanted to do something for our 5th Anniversary on Friday. We will then go pick the girls up! I hope they are good for Gram and Gramp. I am not sure who will be more excited to see us on Saturday...the girls or Nana & Papa! They do love it there and as my Mom says....they are only little once! ( I will reminder of that at the end of the week!)
